Why Custom Packaging Matters
In a crowded market, your packaging is your first salesperson. It communicates quality, builds trust, and creates a memorable unboxing experience. Custom packaging turns a commodity product into a branded experience.
Step 1: Define Your Brand Identity
Before diving into packaging design, clarify your brand fundamentals: your colour palette, typography, logo, and the feeling you want customers to have when they hold your product.
Pro tip: Look at competitors in your category. What finishes and styles do they use? Then deliberately differentiate — if everyone uses gloss, consider matte for a premium contrast.
Step 2: Choose Your Packaging Type
CaliPack Pro offers several packaging formats:
- Mylar bags — Our most versatile option. 4 sizes (3.5g to 28g), 4 finishes. Airtight, smell-proof, food-grade. Ideal for most products.
- Glass jars — Premium presentation. 60ML, 75ML, and 100ML options. Perfect for cosmetics, supplements, and artisan products.
- Stickers & labels — Add branding to any container. Any shape, size, and finish.
- Box sets — Premium gift packaging. Combines bags, boxes, and labels.
Step 3: Prepare Your Artwork
For the best results, provide artwork in one of these formats:
- .AI (Adobe Illustrator) — The gold standard for packaging artwork
- .PDF — High-quality print-ready PDF
- .PSD (Photoshop) — Good for photographic designs
- .PNG / .JPG — Minimum 300dpi with 3mm bleed
Don’t have artwork? No problem. CaliPack Pro includes free design service with every custom packaging order. Tell us your vision and our UK-based design team will create it for you — with unlimited revisions.
Step 4: Choose Your Finish
Your finish affects both the look and the perceived value of your packaging. See our complete finish comparison guide for detailed breakdowns of Gloss, Matte, Holographic, and Prism options.
Step 5: Order & Approve
Once you place your order, we send a digital proof for your approval before going to print. Review every detail — colours, text, sizing, layout. We don’t print until you give the thumbs up.
Custom orders are typically dispatched within 6 working days of artwork approval.
Step 6: Scale Up
Start with a smaller quantity to test the market, then scale up with bulk pricing. CaliPack Pro offers up to 30% off at 500+ units — the more you order, the more you save.
